I am a Computer Science Major at Binghamton University in New York, set to graduate with a B.S in May 2014. After that, I hope to earn a Master's Degree in Computer Science.

CS is about more than programming, but that has to be one of my favorite parts. Writing programs brings me back to my Harry Potter-nerd roots; making something out of nothing but knowledge feels magical sometimes. Problem solving is exciting and frustrating and gratifying all at once. I dig it.

I look forward to working and learning alongside the staff at Texas State University and my fellow REU participants.

My partner and I are working to implement a one-stop interface for submitting queries to the internet. It should use crowd sourcing to learn which websites are useful and to discover new sites, and it must be capable of submitting queries across a variety of site layouts and web form schema.

We have a presentation due Friday that will provide our REU-mates with background on our project. We have to argue for our project's efficacy and describe our plans for the next week or so.

By now I've read a few papers on automated web form submission/querying and explored the source code provided by last year's participants. I am going to keep fiddling with the source code and familiarize myself with Selenium, an API that allows programs to interact with webpages. I also hope to introduce some object-oriented strategies into the code for better information management.
